Duties and responsibilities:
• Set up, and operate heat treatment furnace.
• Adjust controls to maintain temperatures and heating times, using thermal instruments and charts, dials and gauges of furnaces, and colour of stock in furnaces to make setting determinations.
• Record times that parts are removed from furnaces to document that objects have attained specified temperatures for specified times.
• Read production schedules and work orders to determine processing sequences, furnace temperatures, and heat cycle requirements for objects to be heat-treated
• Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Minimum Requirements:
• Diploma or equivalent in mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, industrial and/or production
• Training or certification in heat treating or metallography, and previous experience in an industrial environment.
• Possess mechanical skills and be familiar with and able to repair heat treatment equipment.
• At least 5yrs of working experience in a foundry industry.
